Another fatality to report in Taipei, Taiwan. A 58 year old man surnamed Wu crashed into a river with a PPG trike. He suffered fractures in his right lower limb and no other obvious physical injuries, but was covered in mud and miscellaneous objects from the river in his mouth. Presumed Wu drowned because the weight of the engine dragged him into the water.

No other details known.

Looks like another fatality in as many days. I do not know the pilot's name, so if someone learns his name, please let me know.

Apparently, it was an electrocution after hitting power lines in the evening.

I have updated the spreadsheet for the Moree, Australia fatality. I've not been able to find any additional information. Presently, this year ties 2015 at 12 recorded fatalities and we still have almost 3 months to go.

It's not been a good year for the sport.

It was just 4 days ago I added the last fatality, and now adding another one.

https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2018 ... dent-kedah
https://www.malaymail.com/s/1682545/par ... lty-engine

The news story blames the engine failure causing the fatality for the man landing in the river. Rather, the pilot chose to fly at an elevation without a measure of safety. One article indicated the man's body was recovered a kilometer away from where he went in.

Looks like another pilot passed away following a competition in Poland earlier this week, pilot Vyatcheslav Spiridon Nikolayev from Russia.

The only information I have is he made a mistake, the balloon for his Agama was twisted.

I have no other details, so if someone hears something, let me know.
